me and my friend Ann-Sophie Gehrig threw a garage art sale on the 14th of june in den Haag. We were selling our art as well as basic thrift, garage sale like objects. We were exploring themes of art value, moving art, personal taste and thrift.

"If I feel I can not do justice to an object it is better to let it free and let it find a new heaven."
"Restitution is a domestic process"
"Subliminal enough to be an art event yet cheerful designed to be just a nice day in front of a garage."
Thrift as a concept stems from the idea of vein in the nl and not having any other ideas nor money rather than going thrifting. You learn about people and customs, about your taste, about customer service and exhibition display. Thrift in the nl is a unifying experience where you borrow potential from a person that has given up on their material product.
I often question if the thing will give me the benefit I saw in it at the first viewing, it’s like a casting or art graduate who may or may not make it according to the different tastes of the audience.
When we leave a place, the art becomes something like a finished product, the process has come to an end by moving materials from one place to the next, by dissolving and creating an end to a place that has been giving. It also means leaving behind work, art, stories, encounters and we would like to give them a final stage and event.
Selling art has been in our heads since reuniting after Czechia and we would like to make use of our base in Den Haag and invite all viewers and buyers to our art garage sale.
A garage sale is a neighborhood festivity, an odem to borrow a home, and an art sale practice.
We sell objects which will not make the move, yet if they were not to be bought we probably still take them with us in Flixbus luggage.
Be aware the art you see here might be destroyed after, thrift it for a decent price, and be surprised by what you can learn from it. The prices are all within the expected frame of a garage sale.
Join us for a day of sitting on benches and chairs in front of the garage, speculating about our future financial situations, exchanging our ideas on resources, and creating something new if we like.
The quality of the works isn’t represented by the price of the works yet by the factor of release to not having the responsibility of moving it safely and giving it to hands in which they might stay forever.
There will be selected food and beverage choices including a cake with fondant icing and iced coffee. Bring your own vitamins.
